The main goal of the BIOCERAMINK project is to market a new vegetable-based ink designed for the widely used digital printing processes in the ceramic industry. The new product will enable zero environmental impact of the printing process and improve the performance of digital printers.

Need

Developing a feasibility study with the aim of:

  • Verifying market acceptance of the product, comparing it with currently used inks.
  • Conducting a market analysis in three target markets (Italy, Germany, Spain).
  • Identifying customer needs through open interviews.
  • Defining a preliminary business plan.
  • Defining the industrial development plan for the product.

Project

BIOCERAMINK has been funded by the European Commission through the SME Instrument (Phase 1), receiving a grant of €50,000 for the development of the feasibility study. The study was conducted from November 2015 to June 2016. An additional funding application has been submitted for the development of the pilot production line of BIOCERAMINK.
